The family emigrated from Fukuoka, Japan, to Oakland, California, in 1922. During World War II they were interned at the Central Utah Relocation Center, Topaz, Utah. They were members of the Buddhist Temple of Alameda. The family appears to consist of Kazutomo (Kazumoto, Karl K.) Yanagi, Mrs. Tomiko (Tomi) Yanagi, and their child, Motoichi.
